Umpire Training for 2012 Season

NON-Certified Umpire Training:
Please check back later for information and training dates for individuals 14 years old or older who wish to umpire JBA 9/10 and/or 11/12 league baseball games. Training is expected to begin in March 2012.

Certified Umpire Training:
Individuals who wish to umpire high school baseball games are required to successfully complete the 24-hour Ohio High School Athletic Association's umpire course. At minimum, individuals must be in 9th grade to be eligible for certification. Certified umpires are eligible to umpire JBA 13/14 and/or 15/18 league baseball games.

Certification classes for new baseball officials will begin Monday, January 23, 2012, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Classes will continue for eight consecutive weeks and will include classroom, plate, and field mechanics training. Classes will be held at the Ohio State Patrol Building located at 4711 Shuffle Drive NW, North Canton, OH 44720. Umpires will receive plate instruction at Jackson and Perry High Schools with field mechanics being taught during the first week of scrimmages. Cost for the class is $110.00. Jackson Baseball Camp

Coach Gamble,Staff and Varsity Baseball Players will conduct several camps for all boys grade 3-8. Camps will be held on Sunday Afternoons in January. Sign up for one session or sign up for all five sessions. $25 per session or attend all 5 for $100. Each session limited to the first 85 boys. All sessions will be held at JHS Aux Gym from 1-3pm.

Skill specific camps will focus on:

Hitting Jan 8 & 15 2012
Defense Jan 22
Pitching Jan 29 & Feb 5

Update on North 13!

A $14,000 investment in field improvements at Jackson Township North Park Field No. 13 was made possible by a $5,000 grant from Cleveland Indians Charities along with funds generated from JBA Opening Day Classic raffle ticket sales.
